Large Scale Litigation Support Case

We collaborated with the client developers and IT department to design and deploy a document management database. This database allows the litigation support team to keyword search millions of pages of documents obtained from various outside law firms, including, but not limited to the documents provided by the court appointed Examiner. We also custom designed the user interface for this database, which includes features that allow the litigation support team to view, analyze, annotate, and collate the documents online rather than having to physically manipulate the paper documents.

In addition to keyword indexing hundreds of gigabytes of e-mail restored from back-up tapes, we provided the first cut content analysis for reviewing this material for items documenting the role of financial institutions in SPE transactions, Vender Avoidance Investigations, and other specific tasks. We collaborated with the legal and accounting teams to outline the presentations documenting the role of each of the financial institution in the company’s SPE transactions.

We have also performed the following projects as requested:

Hard drive investigations, document extraction, and evidence preservation for the client and at the request of the SEC using industry leading technology with certified professionals in that technology.

Obtained copies of the primary documents used as exhibits to the Congressional investigative reports documenting various aspects of the collapse of the company.

Set up a daily news clip search for company related news. Analyzed and reviewed this data.

Gathered and analyzed news related to Arthur Andersen's role in the collapse of the company.

Analyzed the SEC statements for the major related financial institutions to aggregate quarterly and annual performance metrics such as revenues, net income, earnings per share, and total assets.

Performed database research to determine how much exposure was being reserved by the various financial institutions.
